EMCOOL

Based on recent research from Georgia Tech, EMCOOL’s patent-pending technology cools down computer chips for better performance.

EMCOOL’s technology uses a microfluidic cooling system. While typical liquid cooling methods pass the coolant liquid around the microchip’s casing, EMCOOL’s system cools the microchips directly. This removes the in-between media that pose heat resistance, and allows the microchips to perform more operations per second at cooler temperatures. So the computer works better, and faster, without overheating.

The company plans to first market the product to gamers, who require especially fast and high-performance computers to compete effectively, but it can benefit plenty of other industries, too — including data science, manufacturing and healthcare.
