GlycoScientific is developing tools that support research in the fast-growing field of glycobiology — the study of sugars, also known as saccharides or glycans. Sugar structures play an important role in many biological functions, and changes in their function are associated with many diseases, such as cancer, diabetes, heart disease and Alzheimer’s.

Using a proprietary process, GlycoScientific has created iGlycoMabTM, a monoclonal antibody with glycans that are labeled with a stable isotope. This mAB is a reagent that will enable analysis and profiling of glycans such as carbohydrates and glycoproteins, an important tool for glycobiology researchers.

The company anticipates a growing market for glycan-specific reagents.
