Farm workers monitor and evaluate animal welfare in poultry houses — a time-consuming, labor-intensive process subject to human error. PoultryE is an automated system that monitors poultry welfare automatically.

It’s based on imaging and phenotyping technologies (e.g., deep learning models) to monitor and track floor distribution patterns of broiler chickens and individual birds’ moving in different zones of feeding, drinking, and resting.

Guided by machine learning, the imaging technologies have also been applied to monitor floor eggs and the pecking behavior of cage-free laying hens.
