High thermal conductivity plastics for 3D printing

Materials company TCPoly created a new and improved kind of plastic that’s ideal for use in 3D printing and manufacturing.

Plastic offers a lot of advantages to manufacturers. It’s light-weight and low-cost, easy to mold and sculpt and doesn’t corrode like metal. But plastic doesn’t conduct heat well. When used alongside electronic parts, this can cause dangerous overheating.

TCPoly solved this problem by engineering the world’s highest thermally conductive plastic, which transfers heat 50 times better than traditional plastics. This makes it ideal for use in electronics.

The company has made this patent-pending material available as a plastic filament designed for use in 3D printing processes. The filaments can also be used in traditional manufacturing.
