Mass Spectrometry Core facility at Georgia State University provides access to expertise in the analysis of chemical and biological molecules with state-of-the-art mass spectrometers. The facilities conduct:

  • Routine low-resolution analysis by EI, CI, ESI, APCI and MALDI of small organic molecules, biomacromolecules such as peptides, proteins, nucleic acids, lipids, and oligosaccharides, polymers, and metals.
  • Accurate mass analyses and elemental composition determinations, tandem (MS/MS) experiments and GC and LC separations with MS detection

Instruments:

  • Waters Micromass Q-TOF micro (ESI-Q-TOF)
  • Bruker-Daltonics UltrafleXtreme MALDI TOF-TOF with tissue imaging capabilities
  • Shimadzu QP5050A GC-EIMS,
  • AB Sciex API 3200 [ESI(APCI)-Triple Quadruple] with an Agilent 1200 HPLC

Notes

The Mass Spectrometer Core Facility is located in a secured area with 24/7 surveillance that requires prior approval to access. Visitors will need a photo ID to obtain a Guest Pass at the security desk in the building's lobby for temporary access to the facility.
